Basal not Basil

A couple of weeks ago I met with my dermatologist and she biopsied the crap out of me. I got the call Monday that it was positive for Basal Cell Carcinoma (insert insanely huge eye roll). All of my years of tanning beds and being a sun worshiper finally caught up with me. Let me tell you, I am super stoked about it.

I had two spots removed. One on my chest that will leave a beautiful scar of remembrance. Can't really hide it, unless I wear turtle necks for the rest of my life. The other one is much bigger and it is on my back/neck area... It's like where your shirt hits your neck. Or in my case, where my sports bra likes to rub up on.

Here's some pictures for your viewing pleasure....

This is my chest

Giant hole

All stitched up

So it's gone. Which is completely awesome. BUT we noticed some pre-cancerous spots on my face. I have a cream for it. And it's going to be ugly.

Moral of the story:
Don't tan and wear sunscreen. Especially if you are pale skinned freckled...
