Hayden's Birth Anouncement

It Snowed!!!! (And Iced....)

A couple of days ago we got hit by a nasty winter storm. Tons of people are out of power, Evansville is in a State of Emergency and school has been closed for the past 3 days...

Here are some pictures from around our neighborhood...

Home Sweet Hospital...

Ever since I've had Hayden I haven't been feeling all that great. My body never really recovered and I was having "issues" with certain things in my body. So last Thursday I was feeling extra horrible and I took my temp and it was around 101 degrees and my "issues" were getting worse. So I call my Doctor and I am sent to Triage. This is actually the 4th time I've been to Triage in the past 4 weeks.

Turns out I had a REALLY severe Uterine infection. During the delivery, pieces of the placenta remained in my uterus and caused the infection. I had an ultrasound and you could actually see it! They put me on two different types of antibiotics through an IV (can't nurse the baby because of it) and let me know that I might have to go into surgery the next day. On Friday my doctors comes in and lets me know that I will be having surgery at 3pm and have to be on the antibiotics for the next 50 hours. That means I get to spend another 4 days in the Hospital. Since Hayden has been alive, I have been in the Hospital for a total of 9 days and she is 2 weeks old...

They surgery went well, my doctor couldn't believe how infected I actually was! Hopefully they were able to remove all of the infection. Because of the infection and the surgery that I had to go through, we don't know how bad or if there will be any scarring in my uterus. That means we don't really know if we will be able to have another baby. Hopefully, there won't be any scarring so Brian can have his Boy. But that isn't going to happen for a long long time.

So I am home now, I came home Sunday afternoon. I would really like to be able to stay home and not ever have to go into the hospital again. I still don't feel back to normal yet, I have to be on antibiotics for the next 2 weeks and I am still in some pain. I really feel bad for what Brian had to go through. He was really stressed out while I was sick. He had to deal with a newborn and 3 angry girls by himself. It just really wasn't a good time for anyone. I am really thankful for my wonderful neighbors (thanks Stephanie!!!), they helped out so much! I don't know what we would of done without them.

Christmas 2008

I know, this post is really late. But I had alot of stuff going on...

Christmas was great this year. My family came down from MI to spend it with us. Even though I was in the Hospital for most of the time while they were here, I still thought that it was great to see them!

It finally happened...

It finally happened. After weeks of labor pains, I finally went into labor.

I started getting contractions again around 10:00 Saturday morning. By 4:00 I was still having them and having "discharge issues" (gross, I know) so I called my doctor and he said come in to Triage to get checked out. We get to Triage and they check me and I am dilated to a 5-6 cm. They decide to monitor me for a while to see if I would progress more or if my water would break. At 6:30, nothing was really happening, so they where going to send me back home. Then the nurse checked me again while I was having a contraction and said that I was really "stretchy" and now dilated for a 6-7. She didn't really feel comfortable sending me home so she asked if we could stay for another hour just to see if something would happen. Another hour went by, nothing. We ended up staying there for 3 more hours and they called my doctor and he said to admit me and give me an epidural and he'll be in later to break my water. Before I got my epidural, a nurse checked me again and I was dilated to an 8, so things where starting to move fast. I got my epidural (best thing in the world) but it made me REALLY nauseous. That's happened before, but not like this, I was nauseous the entire time it was stuck in my back. My doctor came in around 1:00 am and broke my water, left to change for the delivery, came back and I delivered her at 1:30 am.

Hayden was 13 days early and weighed 8lbs 7oz and was 22 in long. She isn't my heaviest baby (Kailyn wins that) but she is my longest!

If you ask me how long I was in labor, I really couldn't tell you. Technically I was in labor for three weeks, but if you count from when they broke my water (I was 8 cm) to the time I delivered; it was about 15 minutes.

One thing that was kinda neat, my friend Adrienne (who was due a week AFTER me) had her baby Friday afternoon, so I got to see her while I was there!

Still waiting...

I'm still pregnant. Everything is still the same (contractions, pain, etc...)

I have a Doctors appointment tomorrow, maybe he will just take pity on me and induce me then (which isn't going to happen). Like I said before, I am going to be pregnant forever because my body is retarded.
